The Setup: Scott uses a dual-router table system with two distinct edge profiles that work together to optimize drum performance.
The Edge Profile:
Inside Edge: 45-degree cut
Outside Edge: Round-over profile
Key Detail: A mil or two of flat space between the two edges (not meeting directly)
Why This Works: The round-over on the outside dramatically improves head seating - especially crucial with today's modern drum heads that can be challenging to seat properly on sharp edges. The 45-degree inside cut maintains the drum's tonal characteristics while the small flat section between edges prevents any harsh contact points.
Application:
Same profile on all toms (rack and floor)
Kick drums get the identical treatment, but with the outside edge coming in slightly more to accommodate the different head shape and provide just a touch more head contact for controlled dampening
The Result: Better head seating, improved tuning stability, and optimized tone across the entire kit.

All shells feature 8mm thickness with a game-changing joint construction that outperforms traditional methods:

Simple butt joint with overlay strip

Butt joint for initial 2mm of shell thickness
